Google Meet's transcript is gated and Workspace-only
Google Meet can transcribe a call, but it's limited to certain Google Workspace editions, the host has to turn it on, and the transcript lands in a Google Doc in the organizer's Drive. If you're on a personal account, joining someone else's meeting, or your admin hasn't enabled the feature, you're left with a recording — or nothing — and no clean text to work from.

Do I need a paid Google Workspace plan to transcribe a Meet?
No. Google's built-in Meet transcription is limited to certain Workspace editions and has to be enabled by the host. Vowen transcribes independently — it either listens to the call or processes a recording you've saved — so it works on any account, including personal Gmail.
Can Vowen transcribe a Google Meet recording I already have?

Does a bot join the Google Meet?
No. Vowen captures the audio on your own device rather than joining the call as a participant, so nothing shows up in the meeting for other attendees.
Is my meeting audio uploaded to the cloud?
