How does Vowen work with Claude Code?
Vowen runs system-wide and types into whatever app has focus. Place your cursor in the Claude Code prompt, hold your Vowen hotkey, speak, and the text is inserted right there. There is nothing to set up.
Does it work in the terminal and in IDEs?
Yes. Vowen inserts text at your active cursor anywhere on your system, so it works in standalone terminals and in the integrated terminals inside editors. If you can type into it, you can dictate into it.
Can Claude Code read my Vowen notes?
Yes. Vowen ships a CLI with an MCP server. Run claude mcp add vowen -- vowen mcp, and Claude Code can search your dictation history and meeting notes, transcribe files and edit your vocabulary.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not for dictation. Vowen transcribes on your device, so prompts stay on your machine and it works offline. Claude Code itself still needs its own connection.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS and Windows, so you can dictate to Claude Code from whichever machine you code on.
Is it free to try?
